Creating albums and folders

You can create albums and folders in your account to keep your photos organized.

Difference between Album and Folder

• Albums hold photos/videos.
• Folders hold any number of albums
• You can arbitrarily nest folders

If you import via the desktop app, it will preserve your folder structure and create albums for the lowest level folder to add photos/videos to them.

Creating albums

You can select any number of photos/videos from the main photo grid. It is also possible select whole months or select from start to end by holding down the Shift key while selecting the first and the last item.

Select the "Add to album" button and create a new one by entering a new name.

It is also possible to first create a new album and then add photos to it by going to the "Albums" view. On the web app you can find it behind the "three dots" menu on the search bar. Click then the "New album" button on the top right.

For the mobile apps, it is behind the second icon in the main action bar.

Deleting albums

If you open an album, you can delete it by clicking on the "three dots" menu

Renaming albums

You can also rename on the web app by clicking on the title. In the mobile apps you can rename it via the "three dots" menu.

Sharing albums

Behind the "three dots" menu there is also a "Share" option. When creating a new share link you are asked for the duration of validity, and whether or not you want to allow uploads to that share.

Collecting photos from an event

On wedding, birthday parties or other social events, people tend to make a lot of photos/videos, which then sit on a dozen different phones.

If you want to collect them all, zeitkapsl has you covered.

Just create new album and create a share link with "Allow uploads" enabled. Stitch the generated QR-Code into the menu card or somewhere on the entrance.

Your guests can then just scan the QR Code and immediately upload photos/videos from the event, without having to install any app or requiring an account.

That way you can easily collect photos/videos from your events.
