The main photo grid
The main photo grid is the first thing you see after you created an account or logged in into an existing one. It shows all your photos/videos sorted chronologically and divided into sections.
Scrollbar
If you start scrolling through the grid, a handy scrollbar appears on the right side of the screen. If you pull the lever, a label appears that shows you the target section. When you release the lever, the grid scrolls there immediately.
Main action bar
On the mobile apps, at the bottom of the screen, you see the main navigation/action bar.
- 📲 Main grid: all photos/videos sorted chronologically
- 📁 Albums/Folders view: view, edit or create albums and folders
- 🔎 Search categories: allows you to browse through your photo library by time, location, objects, persons and text.
If you select one or more items on the main grid, the main action bar changes to available actions:
- Create a new share of selected items
- Create a new album of selected items
- Like/unlike items
- Hide/unhide items
- Trash/untrash items
Search bar
The search bar allows you the select photos/videos based on predefined filters:
- *️ Liked items
- 🙈 Hidden items
- 🗑️ Trashed items
- "on this day" shows items on this exact date back through the years.
You can also type search terms in any combination into the search bar. Here are some samples:
- "May 2025"
- "13.06.1990"
- "Thursday, 2025"
- "Vienna, May 2025"
- "Mountain"
- "Cat
- "Amsterdam 2024"
- "Uncle Alfred" (person name)
- "Recipe strawberry cake" (text in images)
Selecting items
- On the mobile apps you can trigger the selection by long pressing on a single item
- On web you can click on the ✔️ on the top left corner of any image
- It is even possible to select whole sections by clicking the ✔️ next to the section heading
