Download photos and videos

You can download selected items in the web or mobile apps, or export your complete library with the desktop app.

Download selected items in the web app

1. Select the photos and videos you want to download:
   • Click the checkmark on an item to select it.
   • Click the checkmark next to a day or month heading to select that whole section.
   • To select a range, select the first item, then hold Shift and click another item.
2. Click the Download button in the selection toolbar.

Download selected items in the mobile apps

The mobile apps use the system share sheet to save photos and videos to your device or send them to another app.

1. Long-press a photo or video to start selecting items, then select the items you want.
2. Tap Share and choose Other Apps.
3. On Android, choose Original quality or Reduced quality, then tap Share. On iOS, items are shared in original quality.
4. In the system share sheet, choose a save action or the app you want to use.

Download your complete library with the desktop app

For a complete local copy, we recommend the zeitkapsl Desktop App.

1. Install the desktop app and log in.
2. Open the Download tab.
3. Select a target folder.
4. Click Download.

The export recreates your folders and albums. Unsorted items are placed in the collections/not in any collection folder. Each photo or video is downloaded once, then hard-linked into every album that contains it. You can therefore find an item in multiple albums without it taking up disk space more than once.
